AUSTRALIA’S LARGEST RETRO ARCADE IS PULLING ON EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR NOSTALGIC HEARTSTRINGS
The year, 1997. A fresh-faced boy, plastic neon-blue gun in hand, slides a gold 1 dollar coin into a new arcade game called Time Crisis II. As he stares in wonderment, the pre-game dialogue finally comes to a close and the machine screams out “ACTION!”. Soon, all hell breaks loose as it’s full blown foot-to-the-pedal action, as he lays waste to a number of armed henchman, who invariably are bloody terrible marksmen… And with that, a love of arcade games was born.

If this sounds like the opening scenes to your Hollywood biopic starring the next prepubescent “young star” who will inevitably be churned-and-burned by the Hollywood machine, washed up and drug-addled by the age of 16, then 1UP Arcade in the Brisbane suburb of Morningside is for you!
With a collection of over 90 arcade games and Brisbane’s largest pinball machine collection, you can relive the glory days of your childhood, where your biggest worry was whether you could scab enough money off your mates before the Tuckshop ran out of Sunny Boys.

Oh, by the way, all of the games are set to “free play” mode, so you’re able to rip into any and all games, whether you’re a seasoned vet or a complete newb.
With arcade games like Mortal Kombat, NBA Jam, Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Double Dragon, Crisis Zone and Silent Scope, you’ll be lucky not to walk out with a severe case carpal tunnel syndrome and an almost vampiric moon tan.
